THE TAKE

KarnakPanel is a self-hosted web hosting control panel for Ubuntu servers. One install command sets up a full web, mail and DNS stack on a fresh VPS: OpenLiteSpeed, PHP 8.1 to 8.3, MariaDB, BIND9 with DNSSEC, Exim and Dovecot, and Roundcube webmail.

Host unlimited domains, mailboxes, FTPS accounts and databases, with free Let’s Encrypt SSL, 1-click WordPress and phpBB installs, scheduled backups with selective restore, and reseller packages with limits. Security includes 2FA, fail2ban, a firewall manager and self-updates with rollback.

It’s free, with no license server, no pro tier and no phone-home. KarnakPanel is in testing before launch, and the team says the code goes public with v1.0.
