THE TAKE
PanelAlpha Engine turns a fresh Ubuntu or Debian VPS into a safe place for your AI agent to work. Install it with one command, connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI or any agent that works with MCP, and ask it to deploy a GitHub repository, an open-source app like n8n or Ghost, WordPress or a static site. Every deploy gets a preview URL you can open right away.
The agent works through Engine instead of straight on the server, so projects stay organized and isolated: each runs in its own Docker container, behind a firewall and ModSecurity/OWASP WAF rules. Backups, SSL, domains, databases, cron, SFTP, logs, staging, Git push-to-deploy, visitor stats, monitoring and Cloudflare tunnels are built in.
Engine is free and open source under the Apache 2.0 license: you pay only for your server and your AI subscription. Before it was opened up, it ran PanelAlpha’s WordPress hosting platform for over two years.
